French Oak Barrels are designed for storage and ageing of wine and spirits. Alcohol stored in them acquire a unique taste and aroma. French oak – tree species in Europe is the raw material for the production of high quality barrels. Oak wood is rich in tannins, giving the drink a noble, deep flavour and aroma. Barrels are produced, as in the olden time manually. This provides high strength and reliability giving product life over 30 years. 

In the manufacture, glue, varnish and other chemicals are not used. For the manufacture of barrels, trees aged 80-100 years are used. Wood is neatly split along the grain and dried from 1.5 to 2 years. Saving the tree structure and properly drying them guarantee that this barrel will never leak and will serve its owner for decades.

All oak wine barrels are individually hand made by expert artisans and do not contain wax, paint or glue on the inside. The barrel is toasted or charred inside to a medium level. This will enhance the flavour and aroma of the spirit inside.

Rinse the barrel with cool water several times and leave the barrel filled with water for 48 hrs to soak. By filling them with water which expands the wooden oak staves seals any leaks.  For additional protection barrels should be placed in the stand provided.
